MEET ALISON
A Leader with Strong Values

STRONG ROOTS
First-generation Canadian, Alison Gohel was born and raised in Saskatchewan. After spending some time abroad, she came back to Canada choosing Ontario as her home base. A manager with a multinational professional services firm in Toronto, Alison holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Laws, and has completed her Masters of Laws degree in France, where she met her husband, Pierre-Yves, while working for an international law firm in Paris. Fluent in both English and French, she is currently enrolled in an LLM program at Osgoode Hall Law School.
COMMITED TO SERVICE
A dedicated leader anchored in strong values, Alison has always believed in public service and has pivoted to devote a significant amount of her time to advance this passion. Her volunteer hours and political aspirations began at the age of eight, where she canvassed alongside her parents in Regina, Saskatchewan for Ralph Goodale of the Liberal Party. Over 30 years later, Alison is focusing on what really matters: the idea that politics, at its core, is simple—it is about people.
In 2013, Alison and her husband chose Oakville as their home. They knew it was the perfect place to fully immerse themselves, to build a life, and to raise a family. After almost a decade, she is proudly committed to growing the middle class and supporting every family in Oakville. Alison understands what it will take to get the economy back on track and how to create good, well-paying jobs in the community. She will never stop working hard to create a better future for all.
A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY
A mother of two, Alexandre and Eloise, Alison and her family make the most of their weekends taking advantage of the many Oakville trails, spending time at the lakefront, and strolling through the bustling downtown visiting the boutique shops and world-class restaurants and cafes.
